Super Duper Detox Green Smoothie 1

Today was the first day of my sugar detox for the next four weeks.  As far as day one’s go, it has been quite successful so far.

I got a great night’s rest last evening because I only just returned to the UK after spending two months in America and so jet lag aided in getting a good night’s rest.  I woke up this morning and took some before pictures so that I could track my physical progress with the sugar detox as well as how I feel.  Next I had my usual mug of green tea with a slice of frozen lemon to kick start my metabolism.  For breakfast I enjoyed a lush salad,

made with fresh organic greens and a couple boiled eggs which was all dressed with avocado oil, lemon, oregano, red chilli flakes, garlic powder, salt and pepper.  I spent most of the day unpacking and doing a bit of tidying around the house.  Then I enjoyed a light snack of celery and organic almond butter, followed by a boiled egg.  For lunch I opted for a smoothie and thus this concoction was born.  I’ve enjoyed a similar mix as a juice with apple, pear or kiwi and I really wanted to create something that would be similar without the added sugar or fruit and also could be filling enough as a meal replacement.  This is highly recommended for anyone who is used to eating high fibre diets, if it is your first go at a green smoothie the flavour may not be right for you.   

Auto Draft


  • a large handful of spinach
  • 6-7 mint leaves
  • a thumb of ginger
  • juice of half or whole lemon
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1/2 cup cucumber
  • 1/2 a small avocado
  • 1 scoop of hemp protein powder (flavoured if you like)
  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds
  • 3/4-1cup of coconut water


  • Put all of the ingredients into a high speed blender in the same order as they are listed.
  • Whiz until it becomes creamy and smoothie.
  • Add a straw and a garnish if you like and enjoy 💕
