Strawberries N Cream Overnight Oats 1


One of my favourite trends in the healthy/clean eating world has been overnight oats for some time now.  I love how convenient they are for just grabbing and heading out the door on a busy morning.  I only became familiar with them about a year or so ago and I’ve toyed with many ways to enjoy them.  I have made carrot cake overnight oats, a bananas fosters type fridge oats (recipes coming soon) and my newest favourite combination is this Strawberries N Cream fridge oats.

It’s a very basic recipe that can be modified to your tastes or what you have on hand and it’s great for the whole family.  I made a few of these yesterday for myself, my mother and younger brother and they both really enjoyed it!  I hope you and yours do as well 💕

Strawberries N Cream Overnight Oats

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup vanilla nonfat greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup for desired sweetness (optional)

Instructions

  • Layer all the ingredients in a jar or tupperware with a tight fitting lid.
  • Start with oats then milk
  • Add maple syrup to oats and milk if using
  • Then layer the rest.
  • Seal jar or bowl and store in refrigerator overnight.

Notes

You can make 2-3 jars in advance for easy work/schools week breakfasts but I find them best when made the night before.

Frozen strawberries can be used instead of fresh and work best if making several for the week ahead
